Bottom line: spend more on better paper.
Although Hilroy claims this pad is 90lb cold press paper, it is both far too flimsy and rough to be either. It buckles under even the lightest wash of paint, and isn't of any higher quality than copy paper for watercolour art. I purchased it along with a couple other pads of 90lb watercolour paper from other brands, as I am new to watercolour painting and I'm trying to find what works best for me. This paper is, to put it bluntly, garbage. I am using it now as a scratch pad, to test colour mixes before laying them down on my actual painting. I would not even recommend this for younger children/students, because the buckling will ruin even the most talented child's art.
